Flexible Riser Outer Sheath Repair

Flexlife demonstrated its Armadillo® repair technology to address these critical issues. For the Brazilian operator, divers successfully deployed an Armadillo® clamp to encapsulate the riser’s outer sheath breach in the splash zone, with its integrity confirmed via a positive pressure annulus test, effectively sealing the damage and mitigating ongoing oxygenated corrosion. For the SE Asian operator, a comprehensive solution involved using two long-length Armadillo® clamps, fitted by saturation divers, to repair the significantly damaged large-diameter flowline. A steel pressure vessel was used to pump the Armadillo® sealing gel into the clamps on the seabed, successfully repairing the multiple damage locations.
